Eldchrist Winery is committed to providing a full winery experience for the
people of Union and Madison Counties in Ohio. Our first acre of grape
vines includes 6 strategically selected grape varieties.

Vinifera is the name of grape varieties of European origin.
Gruener Veltliner
Gruener Veltliner is pronounced
GROO-ner VELT-lie-ner. You
can also call it by it's nickname, "Groovy". It is a white wine grape from
Austria. It's reputation is growing on the world stage.
Cabernet Franc
Cabernet Franc is the parent grape of Cabernet Sauvignon. It makes a
fantastic red wine in its own right. It generally grows in a cooler
climate than Cabernet Sauvignon.
New York Hybrids
Cornell University in New York is focused on developing new grape varieties that
are suited for our particular climate.
Traminette
Traminette
is a white wine grape.
It is similar to a tart Riesling or a Gewurtraminer.

wines of good quality. Nicknamed "No Spray Red."
Minnesota Hybrids
University of Minnesota is developing grape varieties that can withstand the
extreme cold winters and short growing season. These hardy vines should
have no trouble surviving our climate.
La Crescent
La Crescent
is a white wine grape.
It produces a wine with distinctive Pear flavors.

This red wine grape is a cousin of Pinot Noir.
